Triple Crown of Waterton

Waterton Parks Inn & Resorts present an adventure in your own backyard with the Triple Crown of Waterton.

We challenge you to complete three world class hiking trails; Crypt Lake, Akamina Ridge and the Alderson-Carthew Summit in one summer.

Sign up at Pearls Café located in the Waterton Townsite. Make sure you snap a photo of yourself at the summit of each hike. Once you have completed the Triple Crown challenge, be sure to fill out our Waterton hike review and include the pictures of you summiting each hike and you will earn a spot on our glory board! Fantastic Four of Waterton-Glacier
Crypt Lake Water Fall

Following in the footsteps of the Triple Crown of Waterton, the Fantastic Four Peace Park Challenge hosted by Pearls Cafe takes you on four majestic hikes through two countries spanning four days. Waterton-Glacier is the world’s first international peace park and home to the Fantastic Four challenge.

Here you will cover two of Waterton’s favorite hikes: Crypt Lake and Alderson-Carthew followed by two of Montana’s most scenic treks: Garden Wall and Siyeh Pass.

Challengers also have the option of purchasing packages at the Aspen Village Inn for a great night’s sleep and a hot shower in between hikes.

Waterton Wildflower Festival

Waterton’s Wildflower Festival was established in 2005 and was created to promote and celebrate the fact that Waterton National Park is home to more than 50% of Alberta’s Wildflowers which is more than any other Rocky Mountain national park. Between the sweeping plains and towering mountains the beauty and diversity of these wildflowers can be seen and shared by all.

The Waterton Wildflower Festival last for 9 days and has a wide variety of activities throughout the festival including guided tours, hiking, works shops, wildflowers by horseback and many more. The festival also includes more than 80 educational courses and events on plant types, wildflower identification, ecosystems and many more. Photography and art workshops will also be available. All events held over the 9 day festival will be led by highly qualified and talented professionals.


Waterton Wildlife Weekend

The Waterton Wildlife Weekend allows visitors to experience all of Waterton’s animal inhabitants in their beautiful natural environment. This annual event takes place every September and can be enjoyed by all.

Waterton's Wildlife Weekend is full of events and activities such as:

The true beauty of Waterton National Park truly shines in the fall. Visitors will be greeted by all manner of wildlife, from beavers and bears to mountain goats and moose. Come and celebrate this picturesque time of year with us and enjoy the natural wonders in our own back yards.


Chief Mountain Connector (Daily shuttle to USA/Canada border)

This shuttle assists hikers/visitors who are returning or coming into Waterton via the Chief Mountain Border. It also works as a connection with transportation into Montana. There are varied options on the other side of the border to continue into the US.

Cameron Express (One-way Daily shuttle)

This shuttle is most commonly used for hikers to access the Carthew- Alderson Trail, a one-way hike beginning at Cameron Lake and ending in the Waterton village.

It is also a good way to access Akamina-Kishinena to bike the Wall Lake trail before cycling down the Akamina Parkway back to the village.

Reservations are required for hikers and especially mountain bikers. We have a maximum capacity of six bikes.

Tamarack Trail Traveller (Shuttle for Tamarack Trail Hikers)

The Tamarack trail is an overnight multi-day hike that travels to many alpine lakes in the Blakiston and Akamina valleys.

Runs from June to October, weather and trail condition depending. Bookings before or after these dates please contact us.
